Price history: the one habit that saves you the most
If you build one habit before buying online, make it this: check how the price has moved. It takes ten seconds and prevents the most common regret, buying at the top of a price swing.
What to look for
Open a price-history chart for the listing. Note the lowest price, the highest price and what it usually costs. A product that swings between ₹1,999 and ₹2,999 and is now ₹2,050 is close to its low. One that sits at ₹2,050 all year has no discount to wait for.
Seasonality
Prices of phones, TVs and appliances dip around big sale events and new-model launches. Fashion discounts deepen at end of season. Groceries and daily-use items fluctuate with brand promotions.
Wishlist, then wait
If the price is not close to its low and you are not in a hurry, save the item and wait. On this site you can save deals and add watch-words, so a matching product is flagged when it is posted.
Price charts are a guide, not a promise
Charts are built from observed prices and can have gaps. Use them to judge a deal, but always check the live price on the store before you pay.
